Subject:	Assistance to Those Affected by Wildfires in California

We are saddened to see the extreme devastation that is occurring in Southern California due to the wildfires. In the past, the Federal community has repeatedly proved its generosity during times when the need is the greatest. Federal employees looking to assist individuals in this current situation should be advised they may provide immediate assistance through cash contributions to qualified relief organizations. Many charities which will provide assistance to individuals impacted by the wildfires are included in the 2007 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which is currently underway (www.opm.gov/cfc/07lists/index.asp). As additional information becomes available, we will provide it to you. Departments and Agencies can contact OPM's Office of CFC Operations at (202) 606-2564 or cfc@opm.gov if you have questions.
