From:
ACTING DIRECTOR, BETH F. COBERT
Subject:
Excelsior College Alliance Offers Federal Employees, their Spouses and Domestic Partners Reduced Tuition Rates to Pursue Post-Secondary Education

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) mission is to recruit, retain and honor a world-class workforce to serve the American people.  OPM and Excelsior College have entered into an agreement as part of OPM’s continued effort to close skills gaps, increase Federal employees' access to high quality, affordable educational resources, and further develop and sustain the Federal workforce.

Excelsior College, a regionally accredited, nonprofit, distance learning institution based in Albany, New York, will provide a reduced tuition rate to all Federal employees, their spouses and domestic partners.  The agreement between OPM and Excelsior will provide a 20 percent reduced tuition rate on all undergraduate programs, and a 15 percent reduced tuition rate on all graduate programs.  Each Excelsior College participant will be responsible for following Excelsior’s admission process posted on the dedicated Excelsior website for Federal employees at:  http://feducation.excelsior.edu.  Federal employees who want to take advantage of this opportunity will need to apply and be accepted through Excelsior College’s admission process.  The tuition and fee schedule are described here.

Excelsior has five schools: Business and Technology, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, Public Service, and Nursing.  Many of the College’s online offerings focus on the Federal Government’s identified mission critical areas.  In addition, this agreement between Excelsior and OPM affords the opportunity for Federal subject matter experts to collaborate with Excelsior curriculum developers to infuse the public sector perspective into the College’s curriculum.
