Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) 15th Annual Conference

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' (HACU) 15th Annual Conference, "Excellence Through Diversity: Celebrating Our Past and Reshaping Our Future," will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, October 27-30, 2001.

HACU is a national non-profit association representing more than 280 colleges and universities throughout the Unites States, Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain. Although HACU member institutions in the United States represent less that 7 percent of all higher education institutions nationwide, together they are home to more than two-thirds of all Hispanic college students. HACU is the only national educational institution association that represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).

HACU has designed this year's conference to include workshops, panel discussions, and other events of particular interest to Federal participants. It offers unprecedented opportunities for Federal participants to discuss critical issues affecting Hispanics in the workforce and education. Also, it provides the opportunity to interact with presidents and academic officers of HACU institutions.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management supports HACU's efforts and sees the conference as a viable training tool and resource. As we continue to build a diverse Federal workforce, we must use every opportunity to connect the campuses to Federal careers.

We encourage your participation at this conference. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Javier Zambrano, on (210) 576-3254 or visit the HACU web site at
